| "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,
that we
may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
--Hebrews
4:16
Have you tried the "Yellow Pages" approach to finding
solutions
for recurring problems in marriage and family, or life in general, only
to find that when you are done you have really been led to no solutions
at all? Or, became frustrated and gave up because your counselor
"never got the point?" Or, kept going, and going, with no end in
sight and no solutions seen in the near or distant future? If
that's
the case, then you are not alone. Many other people share your
frustration
in trying to find answers to life's pressing questions and challenges
through
philosophies that really can't even define the problem, let alone
provide
an answer. Many people do not realize that among the many schools
of psychiatric and psychological thought there is much contradiction
and
little agreement in important areas such as the nature of man, what
causes
certain problems and behaviors, how to define and/or diagnose
particular
disorders, how behavior is modified or changed, and what therapies are
appropriate. The person who is seeking urgent help doesn't have
the
time to research all of these areas of concern, so, very often, makes
an
uninformed decision as to where to go for that help. Though we
may
use tools, such as Prepare/Enrich (below) to help identify areas of
strength
and weakness, the Bible remains the only source that unreservedly
defines
problem areas and provides understandable, objective guidance in
formulating
and applying solutions. If you have tried everything else, isn't
it time to give the Bible a try now? You have everything to gain,
and absolutely nothing to lose.
We offer biblical guidance and counsel, on a time available
basis, to church members and non members of all ages in areas of
importance including, but not limited to the following: premarital,
divorce prevention, marriage, marriage reconciliation, family, and
pregnancy.
(Note: Premarital counseling does not imply an agreement to
conduct
a wedding ceremony or provide our facilities for the ceremony and/or
reception,
neither does it imply a denial of such. These issues may
discussed
separately. Please review "My Rules
for
Conducting Wedding Ceremonies." You may pick up a hard copy
when
you visit me in person.)
