The National Right to Life Committee was founded in 1973 in response to a United States Supreme Court decision released on January 22 of that year, legalizing the practice of human abortion in all 50 states, throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy.

Our organization is dedicated to training pro-life activists and candidates, advocating the passage of pro-life legislation in Congress, working to dispel the myths about abortion, and increasing the percentage of pro-life women in Congress through our Candidate Fund. People often ask us why we named our organization after Susan B. Anthony. Although she is known for helping women get the right to vote, it is often untold in history that she was strongly pro-life. She was an outspoken critic of abortion, calling it "child murder," in her newpaper, "The Revolution."
